So-called pyogenic granuloma (better defined as Lobular Erutative Hemangioma) is a benign vascular lesion traditionally treated in various ways: incisional or shaving exeresis, cryotherapy, diathermocoagulation, ablative or vascular laser, and chemical cautery. These methods in the authors' opinion can be followed by complications, including the risk of a scarring outcome.

The study presented concerns 35 patients with pyogenic granuloma less than 2 cm in diameter treated with 0.2 ml of 3 % sodium tetradecyl sulfate injected slowly at the base of the lesion until its whitening. The results of this procedure showed complete resolution of the lesion in 85.7 % of the patients within two weeks and no recurrence after three months.
