From this double-blind case-control study, 891 participants with multiple infectious molluscs (3 to 70), over the age of six months used, once daily for 12 weeks, berdazimer 10.3% gel which was more effective in eliminating molluscs (32.4% ) than vehicle (19.7%). Adverse events were very small (4.1%) and limited to pain and erythema at the site of application.
For molluscum contagiosum, no treatment is currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) . All proposed treatments may be effective in removing treated lesions but not to prevent the appearance of new lesions.
