Scabies in Italy – Critical Issues
In 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) added scabies to its list of neglected tropical diseases, recognizing its significant impact on public health.
Scabies is a disease of social relevance, subject to mandatory reporting and often to home inspections by public health services.
Yet none of the drugs used to treat it are provided free of charge by the National Health Service.

AIDA
Good morning everyone,
I am Dr. Elena Mari, a dermatology specialist, and I work at ASL RM1 and ASL RM4, as well as in private practice.
I would like to thank Dr. Fabio Arcangeli and Senator Ignazio Zullo for inviting AIDA (Italian Association of Outpatient Dermatologists) to participate in this important event, which represents an important opportunity for us dermatologists in the area to discuss and share ideas. AIDA's fundamental purpose is to promote the study, progress, updating, and continuing education of dermatologists, encouraging initiatives aimed at improving the quality of care and assistance for patients with dermatological and venereal diseases.
